Harry Potter’s Return?

I grew up alongside Harry Potter – reading every book a million times, going to the premieres of the movies in full costume, anticipating every new book or film every year. When Harry Potter ended with the release of The Deathly Hallows Part 2 in July 2011, I was heartbroken because I knew it was the end of my entire childhood – no more excitement of the possibility of reading a Harry Potter book or seeing a Harry Potter film for the first time, no more new adventures for me to escape to when life gets too much, it was over. I have searched for years, but no other book or film could possibly satisfy my lust for adventure like the Harry Potter series.

With the announcement of the possibility of a film series about the author of Harry’s schoolbook Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, it rekindled a portion of the flame of my love for the world of Harry Potter. I was excited, yet there was still an emptiness in me. Although it was an extension of the world I love, it wasn’t Harry…

But this week, Potter fans were given new hope. J.K. Rowling herself released a new mini sorry of 1500 words as an “update” on Harry and co in tabloid form, written by Rita Skeeter at the Quidditch World Cup. Could this be the start of a new adventure? I hope so. It gives us just enough information to leave us wanting more. I really hope that this will lead to one or two new books about life after the defeat of He-who-must-not-be-named.

You can read the mini story here.

Wish it was more of a story instead of an article by Skeeter though. Still, a good edition to the Quidditch season.
