My Favourite Pictures and Memories from June

Hi everyone!

Here’s another post that’s part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month June swap on Swap-Bot.

I didn’t do much in June, so this will be a shorter post than usual.

At the beginning of the month, my mother surprised me with a trip to the Sammy Marks Museum. We had a lovely breakfast then went on a tour of the mansion. Sammy Marks’ story is incredible and definitely worth a read! The mansion was phenomenal inside, with many original Victorian furniture pieces in perfect condition. Sadly we weren’t permitted to take photos inside, but here’s a photo of my coffee.

I attended ICON Comic & Games Convention. I was dressed as Wednesday Addams and decided to participate in Fight A Knight, which is organised by Battle Heritage South Africa. It was lots of fun but I looked a bit silly in the armour!

This last pic is my look from when I went out to our local alternative club, Red Room, at the end of the month. I’d been wanting to wear this nose chain for ages, and I love the way it looks! It just doesn’t look too great in photos.

In other news, I quit my job! That’s right, Ayame Designs is officially my full-time job! It’s very exciting and I have lots of new things that I am working on. Follow my Facebook or Instagram to stay up to date with everything I am creating!

I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about my month!

My Favourite Pictures and Memories from May

Hi everyone!

Here’s another post that’s part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month May swap on Swap-Bot.

First up is this selfie I took at GeekFest! I absolutely loved this look! The synthetic dreads were made by Karmic Dreads and I’d highly recommend her work! The circlet is one of my own creations that I am also selling in various colours.

Next up is this photo of me with a cute cat I met in Mellville! I went shopping with my new friend Krisne, and one of the charity shops there is also a cat sanctuary!

I also got engaged to my boyfriend of 5 years! This is our engagement announcement photo.

And lastly, I had a great shoot with Emmy Photography. This is one of my favourite photos from the day!

I also had an amazing shoot with Xpressio – Photo Artistry that I can’t share with you yet, as it is for a magazine!

I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about my month!

My favourite jewellery

Hi everyone!

My apologies for not posting in a while. I have been dealing with a lot of personal issues and have also been really busy with my jewellery business.

This post is part of the ESG: Show us your jewelry! swap on Swap-Bot. I’ve decided to just show my absolute favourite jewellery items, as I have a lot of jewellery!

Firstly, let me show you how I store my jewellery. Most of my jewellery is on this hanging display, but then I also have some in separate trinket boxes. My rings and brooches are kept in the purple trinket box shown.

I don’t have one favourite item of jewellery that I love the most, but these are some of my favourites. I am a firm believer in supporting small businesses so many of these items were made for me by local crafters.

First up, this beautiful anatomical heart cameo necklace made by La’ila Designs:

Next, a custom raven necklace made by Puff’s Handiwork:

An Alchemy Gothic bat necklace that I got secondhand:

One of my own creations that I kept because I loved it so much:

This awesome 3D printed raven skull necklace by SIN BIN: Graphic and Fashion Design:

A violin themed choker that I made for myself:

And finally, a dragon ring, imported by Big Dog Steel

All of these pieces are items that I wear as everyday pieces. I like to dress up every day and nothing completes an outfit quite like some extravagant jewellery!

My Favourite Pictures and Memories from March

Hello everyone!

Here’s another post that’s part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month March swap on Swap-Bot.

I handed in my leather bound research report, which means that I am done with university! And I got 70% for my research paper! I was so shocked that I got such a high mark, as I had to complete my research report while still suffering from adrenal fatigue.

On 4th March, I had my jewellery stall at Ink & Iron, and decided to enter my new back tattoo into the tattoo competition and we won best half back colour female tattoo! My artist was over the moon, because it was the first tattoo award he’s received. He definitely deserved it! I got really sunburnt though – ouch!

I had a really fun first shoot with Xpressio – Photo Artistry, but her husky, Sky, kept on photobombing us. Here’s one of my favourite bloopers from the shoot!

I went to a cosplay picnic on 18th March and had lots of fun. I was excited to wear by Little Sister cosplay from the game series Bioshock. We got some really cool photos of it. Thanks to Muller Time Photography for this shot.

My favourite memory from the entire month was when I went to Attrition Event: Resident Awesome on 26th March. It was the first Attrition event this year and it was so much fun! But what made it my favourite is that two of my non-Goth friends, Bree and Kalyca, went with and I got to Goth them up for the day! Didn’t they look stunning?!

I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about my month! Sorry I haven’t been blogging lately.  I have lots of big things happening that I can’t reveal yet!

My Favourite Pictures and Memories from February

Hello everyone!

Here’s another post that’s part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month February swap on Swap-Bot.

Firstly, I took this funny photo of how Merlin often sleeps. He likes to sleep with half his body hanging out of the hammock. It doesn’t look very comfortable!

This is possibly my favourite photo I’ve ever taken of myself. I look so creepy! I took this before going to a Goth club with my best friend.

This amazing fan art was drawn by Hellga Protiv! She really captured my likeness!

I adopted two mice! Meet Dobby and Winky! Poor Dobby had a stroke last week, but she’s managed to make a full recovery.

For Valentine’s Day, I made my boyfriend this gift. Inside the jar was 50 sweets, each with a reason why I love him attached to it. He loved it!

Towards the end of the month, I had a photoshoot with one of my favourite photographers, Liam from Dark Arts Society. We took this afterwards as a sneak peek. The photos are going to be sent to a magazine.

I was also given this amazing drawing of Nosferatu, that was created by the talented Hannes Strydom!

That’s all from me for now. I hope you enjoyed reading about my month!

My Favourite Pictures and Memories from January

Hello everyone!

Here’s another post that’s part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month January swap on Swap-Bot.

January was a relatively boring month, so I don’t have many photos to share this time. I promise February’s post will be a lot more interesting!

Firstly, I got this beautiful fan art portrait from Kariba Chalmers! She created me as an elf, which is my favourite thing in the whole world!

I got these awesome patches from a member on Swap-Bot for the “I collect…send to the person above you” tag. This awesome package caught me completely off guard, as she had already sent me another package with spooky washi tape and cute cat sticky notes. She really spoiled me and brightened my day!

This is my favourite photo for this month! It’s from a photoshoot I did with Silverwolf Photography at the end of December and I received the edits throughout January. In this photo I am wearing a circlet that I made, and the scale armour and earrings that she made!

At the end of January, I went to Emalyth Arts Expo: Nine Lives, but I completely forgot to take photos! I had my jewellery stall, and had lots of fun chilling with friends and watching the bands! I even bought some cool things!

And that’s all from me for now! I hope you enjoyed hearing about my month. Sorry it wasn’t as exciting as other months!

My Favourite Pictures and Memories from December

Hello everyone!

Here’s another post that’s part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month December swap on Swap-Bot.

December was quite a busy month for me!

On 3rd December, I went to the CCHQ Reunion party with my best friend Juan. Here’s how we looked for the night.

The next week, I got a new piercing! It’s called a conch piercing – it’s the one with the grey diamanté.

I had a braai (barbecue for my international friends!) at my house on the 17th. I’ve been friends with Bree for many, many years and we realised that we have never taken a photo together! So of course we had to take one.

The next day, I was trying to pack for my holiday but Rits obviously wasn’t very happy. I went to Cape Town for 10 days with my parents.

While in Cape Town, I got to do an amazing shoot with a photographer whose work I have been admiring for years! Check out Silverwolf Photography.

My friend Kalyca and I went shopping on Long Street, and then she took me to The Royale Eatery, where I had the most incredible burger! It might actually be the best burger I’ve ever had.

I got to see Simi, who I haven’t seen in over a year! It was great to catch up!

I arranged to meet up with a bunch of friends who were also in Cape Town! We took this photo of all of us together.

The next day, we went to Boulders Beach to see the penguins!

My dad and I also went on a boat trip to see the seal island!

I took this beautiful photo of the sea turtle at Two Oceans Aquarium. It’s so beautiful and majestic.

My mother and I went to Polkadraai and picked strawberries! They were so sweet and delicious, but it was hard work and I don’t think I’d do it again.

On the way home from Polkadraai, we went to Butterfly World! My mother love it so much because she is obsessed with butterflies. There were so many different kinds of butterflies and many other interesting things to see.

And of course, no trip to Cape Town is complete without a photo of Table Mountain! I love this photo I took with the clouds hanging over the mountain.

I completely forgot to take photos on New Years Eve, but my boyfriend and I went to Wolmer Metal New Year’s Party and had lots of fun!
I hope you enjoyed hearing about my month!
