My Favourite Pictures and Memories from October

Hi everyone!

This post is part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month October swap on Swap-Bot.

Over the weekend of 6-8th October, I had a stall at my biggest event of the year – rAge Expo. For those not from South Africa, rAge is a gaming and geek expo! On the Saturday, I cosplayed a Little Sister from my favourite game series – Bioshock. Within the first hour of the day I managed to find a splicer (another character from the game) and we just had to take a photo together!

Next up, here are all the awesome goodies that I bought at rAge! Most of these were from fellow stallholders in the Artist Alley – we have so many talented crafters in South Africa and I love supporting them!

I got asked to model for a Tough Candy Makeup & FX‘s Halloween Countdown makeup series, and I got to be Frankenstein’s Bride! I really need to do a photoshoot with this look!!!

I also managed to accidentally dye my fringe blue (oops!), but at least it meant that I could finally wear one of my favourite skirts again! As those who know me will know, I only wear clothes to match my hair colours.

And lastly, here are some photos from Halloween! My makeup was done by the very talented Creative Chaos! I was a zombie Alice in Wonderland during the day, as I had a stall at an Alice in Wonderland themed market! Then at night I went out to Red Room with Juan and Tika, so I just threw on a more Goth outfit that I thought looked cool. Halloween was amazing! I danced so much at Red Room and caught up with so many people I hadn’t seen in ages.

This month I also sorted out lots of wedding arrangements, which I obviously can’t share photos of yet! I can’t believe my big day is only 18 days away!

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my month!

My Favourite Pictures And Memories From September

Hi everyone!

Yes, I know this is the first time I am posting since last month’s favourites post. I have been crazy busy preparing for rAge Expo, so now that it’s over my life will be less chaotic. This post is part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month September swap on Swap-Bot. This month was quite eventful, so it will be a long post!

At the beginning of the month, I had a stall at the Medieval Fayre, and here’s a selfie of me and my stall helper!

I went to visit my friend in Clarens for a week and really enjoyed the time away from home. I miss her so much and wish that she didn’t live so far away.

A few months ago I ordered a dress which was meant to only take 10 days for international delivery, but it finally arrived. I love it so much! Also, I dyed my fringe purple!

My cat, Rits, also seems to have embraced being a “blanket cat” and has often decided to cuddle under the blankets this month!

My best friend decided to surprise me with these amazing books as an early birthday present! I have never owned a physical copy of either of these so I was over the moon to finally own them, especially since these are the beautifully illustrated versions!

One of the best things I did this month was have a stall at a Harry Potter festival! There was a Harry Potter themed photobooth so my friend and I decided to try it! It was actually the first time in my life that I tried a photobooth and I had so much fun with it!

On the 26th, it was my birthday! My parents got me the Polaroid Snap Touch! Here’s the first photo I printed with it! I am having so much fun with the camera but am using the photo paper sparingly.

I also went to watch the Gauteng Philharmonic Orchestra perform Disney songs for my birthday, but sadly we weren’t allowed to take photos or videos inside the theatre.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my month!

My Favourite Pictures and Memories from August

Hi everyone!

Can you believe it’s September already? This year is flying by!

This post is part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month August swap on Swap-Bot. I actually almost forgot about it because I have been away this entire week and only return home tomorrow.

August was quite a busy month for me! I had my jewellery stall almost every weekend. The first one was at Alt Market’s The Dance Of The Dragons. Check out these amazing things I bought there!

I am still working in corporate and on Women’s Day the office spoiled us! We got this awesome goodie bag.

There were a few days in August that were quite chilly and Rits decided that he’s become a blanket cat! He normally hates being under a blanket but he did this often during August.

Another market I did was the Smallville Comics Cosplay Contest’s market. It was very far to drive so I had to wake up early, but it was fun and I liked the way I dressed for the day.

I did a very short notice photoshoot the following day with one of my favourite photographers, Jes Hunter. Here’s my favourite photo from the shoot.

My fiancΓ© and I also finally did our engagement shoot! The beautiful photos were taken by Derek Whitton Photography.

On 26th August I had my jewellery stall at the Pins & Needles alternative market. Tasha’s Cakes had these incredibly beautiful cupcakes for sale and I just had to buy one! It was very delicious.

That same evening it was my favourite Goth event, Attrition. I decided to dress up in a Cyber Goth look and I think I definitely need to experiment with Cyber Goth more often! I had lots of fun at the event – I saw some friends I hadn’t seen in a while and danced most of the night away!

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my month!

My Favourite Pictures and Memories from July

Hi everyone!

Here’s another post that’s part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month July swap on Swap-Bot.

So at at the end of June I got a 2 week contract for an office job as a content uploader. 7th July was my last day, and I took home the smiley face balloon that was tied to my chair. I took this photo after I got home on my last day.

The first thing I did when I got paid for the job was to buy a new cage for Frodo, my rabbit. He still refuses to climb up to the other levels, but I will have to somehow train him do it is as he needs exercise.

I had a really stunning Moon Goddess shoot with Taikutsuna Majo at my house on the 9th of July and this is my favourite photo from the shoot. She made the awesome headpiece!

This next one is a selfie we took after a really fun photoshoot on the 15th July. I wanted to insert the video we took, but it seems that I don’t have the ability to upload videos directly to the blog.

And here’s my favourite photo taken on that day. This might possibly be my favourite photo ever taken of me! The photographer is Xpressio – Photo Artistry. Take a look at her other work! We have been working together quite a lot.

One day, I came home from work and my mother surprised me with these awesome Pikachu slippers that I have been looking for for months! I love them so much!

And last but not least, on the 29th July I went to the Dark_Noise 10th & final Birthday Bash with my best friend Juan. It has a masquerade ball theme so these were our masks! It’s so sad that it was the last event. We had so much fun.

I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about my month!

My Favourite Pictures and Memories from June

Hi everyone!

Here’s another post that’s part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month June swap on Swap-Bot.

I didn’t do much in June, so this will be a shorter post than usual.

At the beginning of the month, my mother surprised me with a trip to the Sammy Marks Museum. We had a lovely breakfast then went on a tour of the mansion. Sammy Marks’ story is incredible and definitely worth a read! The mansion was phenomenal inside, with many original Victorian furniture pieces in perfect condition. Sadly we weren’t permitted to take photos inside, but here’s a photo of my coffee.

I attended ICON Comic & Games Convention. I was dressed as Wednesday Addams and decided to participate in Fight A Knight, which is organised by Battle Heritage South Africa. It was lots of fun but I looked a bit silly in the armour!

This last pic is my look from when I went out to our local alternative club, Red Room, at the end of the month. I’d been wanting to wear this nose chain for ages, and I love the way it looks! It just doesn’t look too great in photos.

In other news, I quit my job! That’s right, Ayame Designs is officially my full-time job! It’s very exciting and I have lots of new things that I am working on. Follow my Facebook or Instagram to stay up to date with everything I am creating!

I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about my month!

My Favourite Pictures and Memories from May

Hi everyone!

Here’s another post that’s part of the ESG: My favourite picture of the month May swap on Swap-Bot.

First up is this selfie I took at GeekFest! I absolutely loved this look! The synthetic dreads were made by Karmic Dreads and I’d highly recommend her work! The circlet is one of my own creations that I am also selling in various colours.Β

Next up is this photo of me with a cute cat I met in Mellville! I went shopping with my new friend Krisne, and one of the charity shops there is also a cat sanctuary!

I also got engaged to my boyfriend of 5 years! This is our engagement announcement photo.

And lastly, I had a great shoot with Emmy Photography. This is one of my favourite photos from the day!

I also had an amazing shoot with Xpressio – Photo Artistry that I can’t share with you yet, as it is for a magazine!

I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about my month!

My favourite jewellery

Hi everyone!

My apologies for not posting in a while. I have been dealing with a lot of personal issues and have also been really busy with my jewellery business.

This post is part of the ESG: Show us your jewelry! swap on Swap-Bot. I’ve decided to just show my absolute favourite jewellery items, as I have a lot of jewellery!

Firstly, let me show you how I store my jewellery. Most of my jewellery is on this hanging display, but then I also have some in separate trinket boxes. My rings and brooches are kept in the purple trinket box shown.

I don’t have one favourite item of jewellery that I love the most, but these are some of my favourites. I am a firm believer in supporting small businesses so many of these items were made for me by local crafters.

First up, this beautiful anatomical heart cameo necklace made by La’ila Designs:

Next, a custom raven necklace made by Puff’s Handiwork:

An Alchemy Gothic bat necklace that I got secondhand:

One of my own creations that I kept because I loved it so much:

This awesome 3D printed raven skull necklace by SIN BIN: Graphic and Fashion Design:

A violin themed choker that I made for myself:

And finally, a dragon ring, imported by Big Dog Steel

All of these pieces are items that I wear as everyday pieces. I like to dress up every day and nothing completes an outfit quite like some extravagant jewellery!
